I would absolutely not be picking Cabal for Conjure (I'm not saying you did!) but for everything else the skill tree offers. The spell is obviously good, if you have wind and/or blood sigil Only looking at the ghost: I think it is fine in the base game, okay in Antique plateau and not really worth it in Calderra. If Conjure does not fit your build (or playstyle), use that hot bar slot for a more fitting ability. Be it a philosopher that does not run chakrams or a bow character that does not use feral strikes. As mentioned earlier, many people forego an ability. Especially if you play around it (eg turning the enemy away from your ghost to keep it out of harms way).Īnd lastly: You don't need to make use of every spell in each of your classes. But for a single spell, it is actually quite powerful. It is more conditional in requiring a corpse. Instead, it is more of a DoT-effect that also can take agro away from you. => The ghost is not a "minion" that by itself takes the frontline and allows you to stay safe in the background. Still, a ghost only needs about 3 hits to be on par with a lightning ball (rune sage), fire ball, elemental discharge, etc.Īnd he can tank some hits, giving to breathing room to go all in. Spending time to look for a corpse, just to see your skeleton die 1 or 2 mobs in, is annoying and makes the ghost too bothersome to use. So yes, in the endgame, I kind of agree with you. And since the Human replacement of the area - the Calygrey - don't have souls, it is a bit annoying.īut at that stage, the far bigger danger is that the enemies deal far more elemental damage, which the ghost isn't really good at tanking, at all.Ĭombined with higher mob health and more mechanics you need to dodge - like the snails or myrmataur -, which the ghost is too stupid to do, it dies off quickly. However, Antique plateau and Caldera do have less of them lying around. All areas have bandits (=souls) and dungeons as a whole have a lot of corpses and skeletons lying around. => Just because the spell is at the top of the tree does not mean it has to be more powerful.Īdditionally, corpses are not scarce in the base game. The extra damage of sprinting attacks isn't really outshining the ghost, at least. Speedster either only nullifies (just for physical resistance, though) the downside of alert or effectively gives a bit of sprinting speed. And you don't even get a powerful spell like Wind Sigil or Infuse Wind, because a lot of the time, the build does not even use a dagger. Rogue Engineer is also often picked for just the breakthrough. It is better for burst, but because of the cooldown alone, ghosts will deal more damage over a long time period. Shield infusion requires the enemy to deal elemental damage in order to use it at all.įlash onslaught uses up its associated boon and also comes with a lengthy cooldown.
